From Empress Drive, travel west towards the seafront and turn left onto Queens Promenade (A584). Continue south towards Blackpool town centre before turning left onto Talbot Road near Blackpool North Pier. Follow Talbot Road inland and the Holiday Inn will be on your left, beside Blackpool North railway station and the Blackpool North tram terminus.
Alternatively, take a southbound tram from the Promenade and change at North Pier for the Talbot Road extension. The final stop is immediately beside the Holiday Inn, providing convenient access to Platform 9.

Platform 9 Bar & Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant, bar and social space located inside the Holiday Inn Blackpool on Talbot Road. It serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks throughout the day and is open to hotel guests, local residents and visitors to Blackpool.
The restaurant originally opened as Marco’s New York Italian but became part of an expanded Platform 9 Bar & Kitchen in January 2026. The change introduced a more flexible menu featuring freshly prepared British and international dishes, light bites, sharing plates, burgers, pizzas, steaks and family favourites.
Platform 9 is approximately two miles from Swish Holiday Apartments on Empress Drive. It is situated beside Blackpool North railway station and has direct access from the Blackpool North tram terminus, making it particularly convenient for visitors travelling into the town centre.
Platform 9 offers relaxed all-day dining in modern surroundings. You do not need to be staying at the Holiday Inn to eat or drink here, and visitors can order directly from the bar.
The restaurant’s railway-inspired name reflects its location beside Blackpool North station. The station originally had eight platforms, with the restaurant presenting itself as the symbolic ninth platform and a place to continue your journey.
